I raced the Apple Capital Tri last year. I suggest you try to follow the swim trail that the organizers cut out through the course. If you don't you will spend your entire time swimming in weeds (my method).
Oh, and the hill you hit twice on the run is fairly robust as well.
We camped at the race site and had a great time. I am sure you will too!
